October 3rd is Unification Day in Germany. If you look closely you can see some of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks from the top of the ferris wheel. We also stumbled upon a pumpkin festival where we ate candied apples, a pulled pork sandwich topped with pumpkin and pumpkin bread.
Deep reminders of the past are scattered all over the city. The 1936 Olympic bell over looking the Olympic Stadium.
Look what we found!
For Labor Day weekend we took a trip to Potsdam where we saw castles and some really fun markets. The following weekend we explored Teltow where we found some amazing art on pieces of the Wall. Then we took the kids to the technology museum where Tyler was especially taken with all the old cars.
Out and about in Berlin… we found some awesome Mexican food (yay), some cool lego like men (play mobile), and some incredible art work! The watermelon, ginger tea wasn’t too bad either. Farmer’s Markets are a fun afternoon here as well with colorful flowers and food!
At the Botanical Gardens where we found plants from around the world and castle shaped greenhouses.
At the Ramones Museum
Around town at the Farmer’s Market and riding the S Bahn
The last standing stretch of the Berlin Wall held some incredible art work!

Visited the Brandenburg gate, the Holocaust Memorial and saw a few pieces of the Berlin Wall yesterday.
Our first few days have been busy. We’ve been exploring our neighborhood, and we took the underground train to Mitte. Then we found a running trail near our new house.
